The musical connection between Justin Keller and Jesse Stacken goes back to 2001 when they first played together as members of the Disney Collegiate All Star Band. After that memorable summer they stayed in touch, occasionally hung out and played music, until they ended up by chance moving to the same neighborhood in Brooklyn in 2006. There they played together in a wide range of ensembles, including Justin’s indie rock band Land of Leland, Jesse’s improvisational quartet No Truck, and the country band Oh Liza Jane. And when the opportunity arose, they played the occasional wedding or party.
In 2015 fate was on their side again as Justin and Jesse and their wives relocated to the same area again, this time Beacon, NY. After settling in a bit, it seemed natural for the pair to make their talent and broad experience available to the community and form Skylark Music. Skylark Music provides highly customizable music for wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours, private parties, and more. From jazz to classical, from classic rock to folk to your favorite song, Skylark Music will add the sparkling touch to your wedding or party.
In addition to Stacken/Keller collaborations, Jesse has released nine critically acclaimed jazz albums and has toured North and South America, Europe, and Japan. Justin has worked with bands including the Gregory Brothers, The Welcome Wagon, and The Lone Bellow, as well as classical luminaries such as Gunther Schuller and Donald Palma, and played throughout North America and Europe.
When they're not playing Skylark Music events, Jesse and Justin both teach private music lessons in Beacon and New York City, and Justin is on faculty at the College of Staten Island.
